What’s Next for Sacadia?

I’ve been working on Sacadia for four years now, and I and a group of friends have now ran 20 games in the FEPH hall at Gencon across Gencon 2023 and Gencon 2024. We’ve had a blast, we’ve learned a lot, and I’m ready to proceed with the base game re-write I envisioned for Sacadia to take it from the “Version Zero” it is today to a more novel form of TTRPG.

The focus of the base game re-writes will be:

  • Separate the crunchy, combat-focused play style of the current PHB into a separate game called “Sacadia’s Art of War” that may be played either separately or together with “Tales of Sacadia”

  • Create a rules-light style of play that allows players to focus on their culture without all the unnecessary rules of ‘crunch’ that the current PHB highlights

  • Weave the cultural tapestry, and the world players collaboratively create through the Macro, even deeper into Micro-level play. We have lots of ideas on how to make that happen, and I can’t wait to show it

These are the three main focuses and changes that I’ll be working on in the coming months. Along the way, I’ll be posting blog posts (like this one!) about my progress and what I’m working on every given week. Check back, or give us your email here to keep appraised.

I’m really excited to show you more!
